Rosy Applesauce {Recipe}
When I was in school, one of my favorite things was “Rosy Applesauce”. Everytime we had tacos, we had rosy applesauce to go with it. And cinnamon rolls. And we actually had real dishes and real silverware. School lunch used to be awesome! Oh how things have changed.
We had a little family get together the other day, and we were having tacos. Everyone was assigned to bring something to share. I ended up made Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes, but since I’m a sucker for nostalgia, I had to make Rosy Applesauce too. After all, what would tacos be without Rosy Applesauce?
And it was just like we always had in school.
Rosy Applesauce is such simple delight. I thought the kids would love it, but the adults loved it just as much!
All you need is applesauce and Jell-o. We tried a few different flavors, and Strawberry won by a landslide. By far, the best flavor.
I used 2 large bottles of applesauce and one large box of Jell-o. If you wanted to make less, just do one large bottle of applesauce and one small box of Jell-o.
Mix it together.
And you’ve got yourself a side dish for tacos! Or a yummy snack anytime.
Now, whenever I’m faced with that age old dilemma of what to have with tacos, I’ll have a solution.
Rosy Applesauce.
Enjoy!
What size jar of applesauce? 24oz? 48oz?
The jars I used were 48 ounce jars. But you can always estimate.
